WE CAN’T MAKE IT WITHOUT YOU: 100,000 EUROS SHORT

Hello there!

First, the good news: the Sea Punk I is not only back in the water and out of dry dock—after seven months of tinkering, repairing, inspecting, and tinkering some more, we have FINALLY cleared all the necessary inspections. All certificates have been renewed, meaning the Sea Punk I is once again READY TO RESCUE.

Now for the “but”: the ship is back in the water, but our bank account is running dry. As has happened so often before, we had to stay in dry dock significantly longer than originally anticipated. We had planned for two months; in the end, it took nearly seven. Unsurprisingly, the whole process cost a fortune and punched a massive hole in our organization’s budget. All told, we had to invest just under €100,000 to get everything back in order. Looking at our account balance right now makes us feel a bit sick – not that we’re actually broke! And while it’s a huge deal that we once again have a seaworthy vessel, we simply don’t have the funds needed to securely carry out the three rotations still planned for 2026.

So, as is often the case, we need your financial support! Otherwise, the Sea Punk I will remain in port and won’t be able to carry out a rotation. The next one is just around the corner – training has already begun. We are READY TO RESCUE. We want to head out to sea – but a rotation costs around 60,000 euros, driven by rising fuel costs that affect us, too.

In short: WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU! Will you help us with a donation so we can patrol the Mediterranean and assist people in distress at sea in the coming weeks and months? Below, we’ve put together some updates and various ways you can donate. Thank you for your attention and your support!

IFC ROSTOCK x SEA PUNKS: BUY SOLIDARITY JERSEYS

IFC Rostock has approached us with a fantastic initiative: they’ve had our Sea Punks logo printed on their men’s first-team jerseys. Now, you can purchase these jerseys in either yellow-and-black or black-and-red. Pre-orders are open throughout the month of June via this link. And there are also kid’s sizes.

You decide how much you want to pay: the solidarity price ranges from €55 to €100. All proceeds—minus production and overhead costs—will be donated to us, helping to fund our operations in the Mediterranean and support people on the move.

Why is IFC Rostock doing this? Because they, like us, are convinced that people in distress at sea must not be left to their fate. So, grab one of these stylish jerseys now and support our next rotation!

IFFI

WANTED: Cinemas and film festivals interested in supporting us

Earlier this month, we were guests at IFFI 2026 in Innsbruck. Among other things, a short film by Madison Tuff about one of our 2025 rotations was screened there. We were also given the opportunity to show a trailer about our work free of charge. Such opportunities and initiatives are incredibly important to us because they help us raise awareness – not just about our rotations, but about human rights violations at the EU’s external borders in general – and reach a much wider audience!

If you happen to run a film festival or an independent cinema and would like to support us in this way – or if you know someone who does and could tell them about this opportunity to support us – please drop us a line at presse@seapunks.de with the subject line “Cinema”.

Chaos Commute

“Refugees Are Welcome Here” Song Released via KROD Records

As of today, the song “Refugees Are Welcome Here” by Chaos Commute is out. It is a track that takes an unequivocal stand on migration policy. With this song, Chaos Commute not only draws attention to human rights violations at external borders and seeks to raise awareness of migration issues, but also donates all proceeds from the song to us. We say THANK YOU to Chaos Commute, as well as to the nearly 30 bands and artists who stepped in front of the camera for the “Refugees Are Welcome Here” music video. Participants include Refused, Good Riddance, ITCHY, The Deadnotes, Acht Eimer Hühnerherzen, DŸSE, iedereen, MARCH, Palebloom, and many more. All the acts in the video are taking a stand and raising their voices for greater humanity and against fascist tendencies. WE LOVE IT and thank everyone involved!

AN EVERGREEN! AMBOATSADOR:A

The biggest help to us is if you set up a recurring monthly donation of €13.12 or more, thereby becoming an amboatsador:a for the Sea Punk I.

Your regular donation allows us to plan ahead, which means fewer worries and a better night’s sleep. Knowing that a certain amount is guaranteed to come in each month allows us to approach our work differently—and potentially even build up reserves to act as a buffer for emergencies, such as unexpected, necessary repairs.
As an ambassador, you can – if you wish – have your name added to our “Wall of Fame” on the “Sea Punk I”. This is where we immortalize all the “Punks” whose recurring donations make our work and missions in the Mediterranean possible.

P.S. If you happen to be a potential major donor – anonymous and with the means to contribute – who has supported us in the past or is looking to start now: please go ahead and do so, and/or get in touch directly with our fundraising department to find out how you can help us the most: fundraising@seapunks.de
