PUNKERPOST – Sea Punk I ready for the next mission

Ahoy! Spring is here, the holiday with the rabbit is over, six super-rich privileged women flying into space in a Jeff Bezos penis rocket are seen as the supposed spearhead of feminism these days – and Friedrich Merz is still threatening to become the new German Chancellor. What a time to be alive! You either aren’t surprised by anything anymore – or you wonder about everything.

In these times of madness, your favourite punks keep going strong. We’ve had a successful few weeks in the shipyard: the Sea Punk I is ready for her second deployment this year. And all thanks to your donations!

Search and rescue costs money – not doing it costs lives

We are operating every single day! When we’re not on a rotation in the SAR zone, we’re in the shipyard maintaining our vessel and training our crews for missions. All this costs money. No civil fleet without you! Therefore: Share this video, talk about our work and the situation in the Mediterranean, speak up when others spread racist bullshit, start your own fundraising campaign to support our work or donate to us directly. As a Sea Punk I boat ambassador – or as a strong one-off gesture.

Fancy going to St. Pauli home matches for free? The Hamburg street team is looking for people!

If you yourself live in Hamburg or know someone there – and would like to go to concerts or St. Pauli home matches to support us, collect donations and inform people about civil sea rescue, then send us a quick email to streetteams@seapunks.de. They are happy about new members!

Our problems are patriarchy, racism and right-wing extremism – not migration!

On April 3rd, in Wetzlar, Germany a man with a criminal record and right-wing extremist views shot a 17-year-old girl. There have already been 27 femicides this year in Germany alone, almost every other day a man killing his (ex-)partner. These cases are not isolated, they are systematic.

At the same time, the police is currently recording a right-wing extremist offence every 13 minutes. In Duisburg, 20 schools were recently closed after threatening right-wing extremist emails were sent out to them. 18,000 pupils had to stay at home.

Where are the talkshows and special programmes on TV talking about femicides and right-wing extremism, where is the public debate? Why is the German coalition agreement full of ideas on how to undermine human rights and discriminate against refugees, but not a single concrete point on combating right-wing extremism as a real threat in this country?

Instead, people pretend that violence against women only comes to Europe with migrants arriving here. This is dangerous because patriarchal violence has always been a problem.

Tour announcement Akne Kid Joe

Sea Punks proudly present: ‘Sauer & Enttäuscht!’ tour 2025! Our favourite band from Nuremberg is hitting the road again this year to play music for you. The title of the tour (angry and disappointed in English) is appropriate for the current times – so if you want to let off steam and channel your anger, head to the Akne Kid Joe concert. This time they’re travelling to some cities they’ve never been to before – so keep your eyes peeled, maybe your city will be there too. The pre-sale started on 23 April, tickets are available via tixforgigs.com. The band has been supporting us from the very beginning, singer Sarah even is a ship’s sponsor of the Seapunk I. So you know what you have to do – get there!
